Peter R.
Private tutor in Missouri City, TX
Education
I graduated from Wake Forest University in 2008 with a major in Physics and a minor in Mathematics.
Experience
I have worked at a private school since graduating from Wake Forest teaching math and physics and enjoying it very much. As a teacher I spend many of my lunch hours at the beginning of the year tutoring students one on one and in small group settings to ensure that a solid foundation of knowledge has been created that we can then build on for the rest of the year. I have created a blended classroom where students watch videos at home that I have made, we review the videos for 5-10 minutes in class, and then students break into small groups and complete problem sets in class. I enjoy this setting as it allows me to go from group to group and essentially tutor my students as we go through the problems which means that I can clarify each students own difficulties with the material at hand and since having moved to this style I have the number of B's in honors and regular physics increase dramatically. Needless to say, I was happy. But more importantly most of the students enjoy it as they get to work with me one on one more than they would in a typical setting. I enjoying tutoring one on one as it allows me to find and address the student's own individual stumbling blocks that have impeded his/her academic success.
